What is iManifest?
The launch of the IBM i Manifest initiative (commonly known as iManifest) was started in 2008 in Japan. In short, the iManifest is a group of IBM i customers, resellers and ISVs who have committed to the following three objectives:
- To revitalize the IBM i market worldwide and increase the customer base.
- To assure IBM i customers, resellers and ISVs selling IBM i solutions that IBM i will not only survive but continue to prosper.
- To inform the wider IT community of the unique value proposition of the IBM i server.
In the short time since its launch the initiative has generated enormous interest within the IBM i community. In July 2009 the initiative spread to Europe. MyMidrangeMeddle blogger, Martin Fincham, offered to kick-start such an initiative in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) by helping to construct the board and committing some seed funding. The initial response has been overwhelmingly positive and some community evangelists immediately stepped forward to pledge their support.
In September 2009, following the example set by our friends across the pond, renowned author and IBM i consultant Jeff Olen came forward to spearhead the initiative here in the U.S.. The iManifest initiative here in the U.S. and around the world will be the driving force for the IBM i platform for years to come. Join us now and be a part of that future.
